Your Privacy Matters
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Berkeley Lock & Key handles information you choose to provide through our Request Service form and how that information is used to respond to your locksmith service request.
Information You Provide
Information We Collect
Berkeley Lock & Key collects information only when you choose to provide it through our Request Service form. We use that information to understand your locksmith request and respond to you about the service you are asking for.
Request Service Information
When you submit the Request Service form, we receive the information you enter into the form. This may include contact information, your service location and details about the lock, key, door or vehicle problem you describe.
Why We Use It
We use the information you provide to understand your request, contact you about the locksmith service you need and help arrange or respond to that service request.
Our Request Service Form
The website uses Forminator to receive Request Service submissions. We do not use the information you submit through that form for advertising or to sell your personal information.
How We Handle Your Information
Berkeley Lock & Key respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we receive when you use our Request Service form, why we use it, how it may be handled and the choices available to you.
1. Who We Are
This website, berkeleylockandkey.com, is operated by Delphine Ragueneau, based in France (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website and our phone number. Locksmith work requested through this website is carried out by an independent local locksmith in the Berkeley area.
For any question about this policy or your information, contact us at info@ôdome.fr.
2. Information We Collect
When you fill out our Request Service form, we collect the service you need, your name, your phone number, your email address (optional), where you need service and your description of what happened. The consent box records that you agreed to this privacy policy before sending your request.
When you submit the form, our form software also records your IP address and the time of submission, mainly to prevent spam and abuse. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit) for security and maintenance.
Please do not include sensitive information such as financial, health or government ID details in the form.
3. Phone Calls and Voicemail
Our phone number, (510) 254-2553, runs through a call tracking service. When you call, we receive your phone number and the date, time and length of the call.
We do not record live phone conversations. Only voicemail messages you choose to leave after the tone are recorded and stored by that service, so we can listen to them and call you back. If we ever start recording live calls, you will be informed at the start of the call. If you prefer not to leave a recorded message, you can use our Request Service form instead.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To answer your request, give you a price, schedule the work and follow up on it.
- To pass your request to the local locksmith who will do the work.
- To listen to your voicemail, check the details of your request and resolve disputes.
- To protect the website against spam, fraud and misuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not send marketing text messages or marketing emails. We only contact you about the request you made.
5. Who We Share It With
- Our local locksmith. Your request, including your contact details and the service location, is shared with the independent locksmith who performs the work, so they can contact you and do the job.
- Service providers. Companies that host this website, deliver our email, route our phone calls and store voicemail messages. They process your information only on our behalf and for these purposes.
- Legal reasons. Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Cookies, Analytics and Do Not Track
This website does not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Only cookies strictly needed for the site to work may be set. Because we do not track visitors across websites, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change how this site works. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
7. How Long We Keep It
- Service requests: up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then deleted.
- IP addresses recorded with form submissions: up to 90 days.
- Voicemail messages and call details: up to 12 months.
- Server logs: according to our hosting provider’s standard retention.
We may keep some information longer if the law requires it or if it is needed to resolve a dispute.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to form submissions and call records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can see it.
9. Your Privacy Rights, Including California
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access it, to correct it, to ask us to delete it and to limit how it is used. You can also make a request through an authorized agent. To make a request, email info@ôdome.fr. We will answer within the time the law requires, may need to verify your identity first, and will not treat you differently for using these rights.
10. Legal Basis and International Transfers
Because we are based in France, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may apply to our handling of your information. We rely on these legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (answering your service request), our legitimate interests (security and spam prevention), and compliance with legal obligations.
Our locksmith and some of our service providers are in the United States, so your information may be transferred between the United States and the European Union. Where required, these transfers are necessary to handle your request, or are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can also contact the French data protection authority (CNIL, cnil.fr) if you believe we have not handled your information properly.
11. Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for adults who need locksmith service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date below shows when it was last changed.
